We are restored citizens and allies working together to end mass incarceration and promote restorative justice policies in the criminal justice system.
We believe in a society where people are given second chances and the opportunity for redemption. Unfortunately, our present criminal justice system uses perpetuating punishment and collateral sanctions to create an underclass among us. The formerly incarcerated must have the ability to be rehabilitated and return to their families and the community with the tools necessary to rebuild and restructure their lives.
In order to make change it is imperative to recognize that those closest to the problems have solutions. Their voices must be heard. Enhancing the opportunity for restored citizens to share their story brings a different lens for society and for decision makers to see through. This change in thinking is necessary to achieve broad criminal justice reform and to shift the perception in the community. Read more about our advocacy priorities.
